Netbook Coolers

As many of you know, I'm now using an Acer Aspire One D255 netbook. I'm really enjoying it but notice that it gets very hot at expected times, such as when outside in the sun, but also when inside and plugged in, particularly when it's hot in the house with the fan on and the windows open. I don't care for air conditioning or the bills it creates. In any case, I know that there are such things as coolers for netbooks and laptops and would like one both to avoid overheating and for saving battery life, as I hear it helps the overall performance of the machine. I went to newegg.com and they have a huge variety, from the standard usb-powered ones with fans to one which uses crystals and no power/fan at all. As always, I'd like to keep the price down, but I also want something which is powerful enough for my needs as an all-day (and often an outside) computer user and which won't break down after a few months. I don't need top-quality, as this is a netbook, but I do want something worth the money that I'll be spending on it. Can anyone give me some advice? Thanks.

Personally if you don't put it on your lap, but use it on a desk it has feet and vents under it that keep it cool. These will get hot when you use them it is how their built, so save your money. A rule of thumb if you want to get more air under it then put it on 2 books so the middle is raised more, but honestly it will keep itself cool unless you use it in the direct sun. New Egg has a phone number . If you must buy one call it and ask for something that is low priced.

I do put it in my lap and work in the sun, which is why I've asked. Not only do I not like the idea of the netbook itself getting hot but it's slightly uncomfortable on my legs at that temperature and I'm always worried it will overheat. Fortunately, Newegg has a great feature where you can search from the lowest price up and also by best rating. I was just wondering if anyone here used them.
